From the appraisal document: This silk painting applied to paper depicts a Daimyo seated in meditation with multiple lines of calligraphy at the top rendered in grass script. This appears to be a painting from the Momoyama period, 16th / 17th century. Black and white colors with a checkerboard lining to the garment.
